Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and sustain manufacturing equipment and processes for the Powertrain Drive Unit organization, assigned to the Stator + Rotor team. You will partner across Product Engineering, Operations, Quality, and suppliers to drive design reviews, equipment specs, and production ramp.

The role demands hands-on equipment expertise, structured problem solving (8D/5 Why/Six Sigma/DOE), and a focus on yield, cycle time, and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; 2+ years in manufacturing, process or equipment engineering.
  • Experience with automated manufacturing equipment design, launch, validation, and sustaining.
  • Knowledge of mechanics, tolerances, GD&T, robotics, safety circuits.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in DFM/DFA reviews and translate product requirements into safe, capable manufacturing processes.
  • Stator assembly, winding equipment, forming, insulation handling, coating or impregnation, heating, joining, verification.
  • Rotor stack and shaft handling, automated assembly, heating, press-fit operations, tooling and fixturing, spin and balance, validation.
  • Develop concepts, equipment specs, scopes of work, RFQ packages, supplier reviews, and buyoff inputs.
  • Coordinate cross-functional design reviews for stations, tooling, and factory integration.
  • Support supplier build, installation, debugging, qualification, and ramp to production.
  • Plan FAT, SAT, validation, capability studies, Run-at-Rate, and acceptance per safety/quality targets.
  • Lead structured problem solving using 8D, 5 Why, Six Sigma, DOE, fault-tree analysis, root cause.
  • Deliver ramp support, containment, corrective actions, and improvements for yield, cycle time, and uptime.
  • Evaluate changes for impact on product, tooling, process, and costs.
  • Create process docs, PWMs, PFMEAs, troubleshooting guides, and handoff packages.
  • Track schedules, risks, and readiness for Start of Production; capture lessons learned.
