Job summary

Wright Tree Service in Culpeper, VA is seeking a Tree Trimmer to prune and remove trees and limbs near power lines, using climbing equipment and ground tools to maintain clearance and keep vegetation healthy.

You will work in variable weather conditions, follow ANSI standards and OSHA regulations, and may supervise less experienced crew after qualification. A strong work ethic, physical stamina, and willingness to work overtime during storms are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months of experience working on tree trimming or clearing crews or completion of applicable skills assessments.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• CPR and First-Aid cards or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Loads vehicles and equipment with limbs/logs not suited for wood chipping.
• Trims, removes and/or fells trees using climbing equipment and hand tools.
• Works aloft to cut branches or trunk sections and lowers them to ground with rigging lines.
• Uses ground tools to fell trees and split into pieces.
• Operates safely near energized lines and may supervise non-qualified staff when qualified.
• Maintains herbicide records and adheres to safety procedures.
