Job summary

Siemens Energy, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead electrical designs for Power Transformers in Charlotte. You will perform calculations, set active-part parameters, and ensure designs meet customer specs while following Siemens Energy design rules and quality standards.

Collaborate across Sales, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality, and Testing teams. You will develop design documentation and technical reports to support tenders and orders. Relocation assistance may be provided.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
5+ years of experience as a design engineer for Power Transformers (>100 MVA/1450 kV) preferred.
Proficiency in 2D CAD and experience with 2D/3D electromagnetic simulation and electrostatic analysis.

Responsibilities

Perform electrical calculations for Power Transformers and prepare design documents.
Design parameters and dimensions of the active part of transformers to meet specs (losses, impedances, noise).
Understand customer specs and prepare design review documents and technical reports.
Collaborate with sales, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, testing, and service on electrical design topics.
Prepare technical specifications for ordering components (tap changers, bushings, windings).
Estimate quantities for offers/tenders and engage in technical discussions with customers during tender stages.
