Job summary

TotalEnergies Gas & Power North America, Inc. seeks a highly capable Back Office Analyst to support the Power and REC trading book in Houston. You will reconcile, invoice, and verify entries across multiple markets, ensuring compliance with regulatory controls and exchange data.

You will routinely run SQL/python-powered reconciliations, develop automated workflows with Power BI, and collaborate with Front/Middle Office to resolve discrepancies. Strong attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Energy, or a business-related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in power markets (wholesale and retail) with emphasis on data analysis.
• Experience with Power BI and automation tools such as Alteryx or similar.
• Experience working with large structured datasets and developing scalable data models.
• Strong IT skills including Excel, VBA, Power BI, and Alteryx.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for Power Trading Desk and Energy Data Management, handling inquiries.
• Perform reconciliations daily/weekly/monthly using SQL, Python, and data-transformation techniques.
• Build, maintain, and automate reconciliation workflows and reporting tools with Excel, Power BI, and Python.
• Produce reports supporting physical power across ERCOT, PJM, CAISO, and SPP in wholesale and retail.
• Manage a portfolio of Power, REC, and HRCO counterparties and ensure accurate deal capture in BOOK and ISO systems.
• Confirm trades daily with brokers and counterparties; ensure timely Dodd-Frank reporting.
• Coordinate settlements, provide cash-flow forecasts to Treasury, support aged-debt analysis.
• Mentor junior staff, run management reports, and perform ad-hoc analyses.
