Job summary

JDC Power Systems, LLC is seeking a Power Systems Field Service Specialist to diagnose, repair, and commission electrical equipment on customer sites across the U.S. You will handle transformers, LV/MV switchgear, breakers, and PLC-based controls, performing startup and commissioning to verify performance to specifications.

This hands-on role requires 3–5 years in field service for power systems, strong troubleshooting and communication skills, and the ability to train customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field preferred.
• Helpful additions: NFPA 70E, OSHA 30, or other relevant certifications.
• 3–5 years in a field service capacity focused on power systems, electrical equipment, or industrial controls.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair transformers, circuit breakers, LV/MV switchgear, and PLC-based control systems.
• Run system checks and resolve technical issues to limit downtime and restore safe operation.
• Support startups and commissioning to confirm performance to customer specifications.
• Serve as the primary on-site contact and explain findings clearly to customers.
• Deliver basic operator training and capture service notes, test results, and feedback.
• Coordinate with fellow technicians to ensure timely, high-quality service delivery.
• Follow safety practices, OSHA guidance, and maintain current safety credentials.
