Job summary
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a Power System Protection Engineer to provide expert technical support and solutions for power system protection schemes. You will teach, advise, and support customers to ensure reliability and safety of power grids, with opportunities across multiple engineering domains.
The role emphasizes designing demonstrations, analyzing relays, and contributing to technical papers, while fostering strong customer relationships and ongoing professional
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience with power system protection and relays (preferred).
- Experience with utility/industrial power systems focusing on protection, control, and operations (preferred).
- Ability to build strong customer relationships and communicate effectively.
Responsibilities
- Apply new technologies or solutions to customers' power systems.
- Design models/demonstrations to teach customers about protection solutions.
- Support SEL products and troubleshoot to find root causes.
- Analyze protective relays responses to faults.
- Teach customers how to use SEL products and protection relays.
- Contribute to white papers, guides, journals, and papers.
