Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. seeks a Power System Protection Engineer to join our Engineering Services team.

You will design, test, and implement protection and control schemes for power systems, with a focus on relay protection, coordination, and reliability. This role requires a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, 3+ years of experience, US citizenship, and willingness to travel about 25% for on-site commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline
• Minimum 3 years of experience; senior level considered
• Strong understanding of power system protection principles, relay protection and coordination
• Excellent writing, documentation, and speaking skills
• Familiar with IEEE, IEC, and NERC/FERC standards
• Experience designing and implementing protection and control schemes in utility or industrial settings
• US citizenship required

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and implement protection and control schemes for power systems
• Collaborate with project teams to assess system requirements and protection strategies
• Perform system testing and commissioning of protection schemes
• Complete work within scope, schedule and budget to high quality and safety standards
• Develop technical proposals for customers
• Follow SEL values and World Class Manufacturing principles
• Travel for on-site commissioning about 25% of the time
