Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Power System Protection Engineer to design, program, test, and implement protection and control schemes for power systems.

You will create protective relay settings for industrial, generation, substations, and utilities, and work with cross-functional teams to meet system requirements. You will perform testing and commissioning activities, align with SEL Values, and contribute to utility modernization initiatives.

Qualificações

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
• 3+ years relevant experience with electric power systems, protection design, and industry practices.
• Good knowledge of electric power system protection and control.
• Working knowledge of protection applications and protection schemes.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally at least 25% based on focus area.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills and work cooperatively in a team.

Responsabilidades

• Possess and apply fundamental concepts of power system protection and SEL products.
• Train customers on design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning and operation of protection systems.
• Complete assigned work within scope, schedule and budget to high quality and safety standards.
• Prepare functional design specifications and maintain detailed design documents and test reports.
• Follow SEL Values and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
