Job summary

MWResource seeks an electrical engineer to provide analysis and technical support for interconnection of new generation resources and long-term planning of the electric power system. You will perform system modeling, develop tools, analyze results, and report findings to stakeholders.

Responsibilities include reviewing interconnection applications, running power flow studies in PSSE, and communicating requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Entry level: less than 1 year progressively responsible electric utility experience
• Level 2: 2 years progressively responsible electric utility experience
• Experience running power system load flow studies in PSSE
• Experience running transfer analysis systems studies
• Ability to clearly communicate requirements and technical information
• Ability to write technical reports of in-depth analysis
• Experience with Python or VBA or other programming language
• Experience creating queries in Access, Oracle, or SQL
• Experience using TARA
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering analysis and technical support for interconnection of new generation resources and planning of the electric power system.
• Perform powerflow studies to assess feasibility of proposed interconnections.
• Review interconnection applications for compliance with Planning Guides and technical requirements.
• Identify process improvements for interconnection study workflows and data management.
• Communicate requirements and results to internal and external stakeholders.
• Track project milestones from study request through commercial operation.
