Job summary

MWResource is seeking an electrical engineer to provide analysis and technical support for interconnection of new generation resources and planning of the electric power system. You will model systems, develop tools, and report findings to guide operations.

Responsibilities include power flow studies, reviewing interconnection applications, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. Desired skills include PSSE, Python, VBA, and experience with data queries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Entry level: less than one year in electric utility industry; Level 2: 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes results of simulated power system studies and compares to actual data to ensure compliance with standards.
• Performs powerflow studies to analyze feasibility of proposed generation interconnections.
• Reviews interconnection applications for compliance with Planning Guides, Protocols, and technical requirements.
• Identifies process improvements for interconnection study workflows, data management, and stakeholder communication.
• Communicates requirements and results to internal and external stakeholders in the interconnection process.
• Tracks project milestones from study request through commercial operation.
