Job summary

Electric Power Engineers (EPE) is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to develop and conduct computer modeling and analysis for transmission planning studies, including steady state, short circuit, and dynamic stability analysis. You will support interconnection studies and ensure VRT requirements for renewables, with focus on delivering high-quality reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, emphasis in Power Systems preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience as a power systems engineer performing impact studies such as Dynamic Stability, Steady State, and Short Circuit.
  • Experience with power systems software such as PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA.
  • Experience automating/programming in Python preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform power system impact studies: Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability.
  • Perform NERC-compliance-related technical analyses such as TPL Annual Planning Assessments.
  • Perform full generator interconnection studies which may also include SSR studies.
  • Ensure that renewable and/or storage resource projects interconnecting to the transmission system meet VRT requirements.
  • Prepare technical study reports for all studies performed.
