Job summary

Sargent & Lundy’s Consulting Group seeks a Power Systems Engineering student/early-career professional focused on generator interconnection and advanced grid studies. You will work on feasibility analysis, contingency studies, and PSS/E/PSLF/PSCAD modeling to support interconnection applications and client proposals.

The role emphasizes collaboration, technical reporting, and delivery of consulting deliverables while developing expertise in a broad set of power engineering tools and ISO

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with Power Systems Analysis focus and six semesters completed.
• Preference for prior power systems experience incl. interconnection studies and modeling tools.
• Knowledge of ISO/RTOs such as PJM, MISO, NYISO, ERCOT, CAISO, ISO-NE is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Consulting Business Group and expand your engineering background.
• Prepare generator interconnection applications, including single line diagrams and PSS/E modeling.
• Review ISO feasibility and system impact studies for clients (ISO Interconnection Customers).
• Perform independent power system studies, including transient and contingency analyses.
• Conduct advanced grid system studies for scenarios with higher renewables or retirement planning.
• Support project teams with due diligence, tracking progress and data.
