Job summary

Smurfit Westrock Company is seeking an OMC to provide leadership to the Superintendent and production supervisors, ensuring reliable asset operation and timely decision making. You will coordinate maintenance and production activities, prioritize work orders, plan shutdowns, and promote safety and continuous improvement across the mill.

The role reports to the Production Department Superintendent, with a path to advance, and requires strong communication, maintenance knowledge, and system

Qualifications

• 5+ years of operational experience; engineering degree or Bachelor degree with equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience with JDE, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Project.
• Familiar with statistical process control and maintenance management principles.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for an accident free and safe work environment by managing the department safety work order backlog and maintaining a zero quarterly backlog.
• Deliver operational excellence by coordinating activities between Production and Maintenance, prioritizing daily work, planning shutdowns and managing backlogs.
• Screen and approve all work orders for asset areas; assure quality and accurate descriptions.
• Serve as project originator for maintenance capital and provide technical resource for repeat failures with reliability engineering.
• Plan installation and startup of new equipment to minimize operational disruption.
• Develop and maintain on-the-job training manuals for all department tasks.
