Job summary

Wellesley College is seeking a Watch Engineer to operate and monitor a 24x7 power plant, including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and related equipment. You will perform hourly readings, manage water treatment samples, and ensure safe, efficient operation while supporting campus services and customers.

The role requires a Massachusetts Third-Class Engineers license, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience in operating chill water plant equipment and boiler room equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and electrical diagrams.
• Willingness to work odd hours, weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor chill water plant equipment, boilers, cooling towers and related systems.
• Record hourly and daily readings of temperatures, pressures and flows to ensure proper operation.
• Test and record water treatment for boiler feed water and cooling tower water per guidelines.
• Maintain positive relationships with staff and external customers while ensuring quality service to students.
