Job summary

Purchase College, SUNY seeks Plant Utilities Engineers to ensure safe, efficient operation of its heating and electrical plants. This role maintains boilers, chillers, HVAC controls, and energy systems across campus facilities, troubleshoots equipment, and supports renovations and energy conservation initiatives.

The position requires extensive hands-on experience with steam and hot water systems, preferred licenses or certifications, and the ability to work rotating shifts as essential

Qualifications

• Graduate or trade cert in HVAC or related field with hands-on facility experience.
• Clean driving record and ability to work on a 24-hour facility.
• Experience with boilers, chillers, HVAC controls and energy systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair boilers and HVAC systems.
• Inspect, calibrate, and repair mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment.
• Respond to calls; coordinate repairs and monitor energy management systems.
• Support safety procedures and emergency readiness for heating plants.
