Job summary

Oglethorpe Power Corp. seeks a Maintenance/Operations Technician for a 500 MW natural gas-fired combined cycle plant.

You will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a 2x1 GE Frame 7/Toshiba plant, performing rounds and following safety, environmental, and regulatory policies. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, shift handover, and coordinating with control room staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
• Ability to train others and lead on-the-job guidance.
• Competence to read and interpret technical manuals, P&IDs, and diagrams.
• Independent decision-making under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Ability to identify electrical/mechanical issues using diagrams and color-coding.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain plant equipment with safe, reliable performance.
• Provide daily rounds, troubleshooting, preventive, preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Support energy dispatch and coordinate with control room staff on plant capability.
• Lead on-the-job training opportunities and assist in program improvements.
• Manage contractor work and procure parts as needed.
• Maintain qualifications and follow safety and regulatory procedures.
