Job summary

Oglethorpe Power Corp. is seeking an experienced Plant Operations Manager for a 500-MW gas-fired facility. You will supervise shift operations, coordinate with maintenance and engineering, and ensure safe, reliable power generation in compliance with all regulations.

The role requires a strong background in power-plant operations, supervisory leadership, and capability to manage procedures, training, and performance reviews. On-call, overtime, and shift work are expected.

Qualifications

Ten years of progressively responsible power-plant operations experience with supervisory duties.
BS in a technical field with six years supervisory experience or two years college with eight years supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, NERC/SERC) and operational excellence programs.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day plant operations, scheduling, manpower, and interface with corporate departments on planning, accounting, budget, and engineering.
Develop and maintain operating procedures to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operation.
Coordinate development and implementation of training and progression programs for operations staff.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve plant issues to maintain safe and reliable operations.
Lead semi-annual performance reviews with development plans for direct reports.
Ensure compliance programs and reporting for OSHA, EPA, DOE, NERC/SERC and related standards.
Provide hands-on production tasks and control-board operation as required.
