Job summary

Oglethorpe Power Corp. seeks a Plant Technician to support a 500 MW natural gas-fired combined cycle plant. You will perform operator rounds, start-up/shutdown, and routine maintenance to ensure safe, reliable power generation. You will follow policies and regulations and engage in continuous improvement.

The role requires reading P&IDs, electrical and instrument diagrams, and effective communication. Teamwork, leadership, and training duties are expected, with OT and rotating shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of experience in operation or maintenance of a power production facility or equivalent military experience.
• Equivalent technical degree with at least one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform operator rounds, start-up and shutdown of the plant.
• Carry out predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance on plant systems.
• Address abnormal conditions, coordinate with supervision and use work orders.
