Job summary

OPC’s Bobby C Smith Jr. Energy Facility in Georgia seeks a Technician to support the performance, operations and maintenance of a ~500 MW natural gas fired combined cycle plant, 2x1 GE Frame 7s and a Toshiba steam turbine.

You will perform operator rounds, troubleshooting, preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance, participate in training, and support safety and regulatory compliance, with 24-hour coverage and rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Level II with 2+ years in operation or maintenance of a power production facility.
• Equivalent experience considered with technical degree or equivalent.
• Ability to read P&ID drawings and technical diagrams.
• Strong teamwork and ability to train others.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and work in confined spaces.
• Must obtain and maintain forklift and safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform operator rounds and start-up/shutdown of the plant.
• Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation and mechanical systems.
• Carry out preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance.
• Assist in training, safety and regulatory compliance routines.
• Support 24-hour coverage with rotating shifts and incident reporting.
