Job summary

Reworld is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead safe, compliant operations at a heavy industrial power generation and resource-recovery facility. You will supervise plant personnel, oversee boilers, turbines, and control systems, and drive reliability and environmental compliance on assigned shifts.

You will report to the Operations Manager and help develop a cross-trained workforce, guiding actions during emergencies and equipment failures to restore safe operation and maintain performance.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of supervisory experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with high-pressure boilers and electric-generating equipment.
• Detailed knowledge of steam-generating power plant operations, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Power-generation or resource-recovery experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts, including weekends, holidays, outage periods, overtime, and vacation coverage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with policies and safety protocols.
• Supervise operation of high-pressure boilers, turbines, and associated equipment.
• Conduct plant rounds and monitor conditions, equipment performance, and personnel.
• Respond to injuries, equipment failures, and operational emergencies.
• Direct personnel and perform required actions to restore safe operation when needed.
• Approve equipment clearances and lockout/tagout procedures and issue safety permits.
• Troubleshoot plant issues and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Maximize facility performance, reliability, and efficiency.
• Direct inspections and housekeeping activities at shift end.
