Job summary

Reworld Waste in the United States is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead the safe, compliant operation of a heavy industrial power-generation and resource-recovery facility during a scheduled shift. You will supervise plant personnel and oversee boilers, turbines, and related systems, ensuring reliable power generation and environmental compliance.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will conduct rounds, coordinate maintenance, train staff, manage safety permits, and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of hands-on field-level supervisory experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with high-pressure boilers and electric-generating equipment.
• Detailed knowledge of steam-generating power plant operations, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Power-generation or resource-recovery experience preferred.
• Must obtain the QRO license within the first year of employment.
• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts, including weekends, holidays, outage periods, overtime, and vacation coverage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
• Keep plant operations within environmental limits, permits, and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise operation of boilers, turbines, steam-generation systems, and supporting equipment.
• Conduct regular plant rounds and monitor operating conditions and personnel activities.
• Respond to injuries, accidents, equipment failures, emergencies, and abnormal plant conditions.
• Direct personnel and perform required operational actions to restore safe operation.
• Approve equipment clearances and lockout/tagout procedures; issue safety permits.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate maintenance.
• Maximize facility performance, reliability, and efficiency.
• Lead shift, daily, weekly, and monthly inspections and housekeeping; lead projects.
• Train and mentor shift personnel to build a cross-trained workforce.
