Job summary

NRG Energy seeks an IC&E/Combustion Turbine Technician to maintain and repair plant instruments, controls, and electrical systems with emphasis on safety, reliability, and environmental compliance. You will operate, monitor, and troubleshoot plant systems, including DCS/PLC networks, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of power plant experience or an associate degree in instrumentation, valid driver's license, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 3 years power plant experience, or an Associate degree with 2 years related industrial experience.
• Valid State Driver’s License.
• Must pass pre-employment assessment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plant instruments, controls, and electrical systems to meet operational goals.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot issues across DCS/PLC-based equipment.
• Switch electrical equipment up to 230 kV and support safety and environmental compliance.
• Coordinate with teams and contractors for maintenance and improvements.
