Job summary

NRG Energy in Houston, TX is seeking an I&C Technician to support maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation for boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment at the plant. You may perform Master I&C Technician duties during absences.

You will read plant drawings, use test equipment, and work with apprentices. Strong safety practices, environmental awareness, and documentation are essential. OT may be required, and a valid driver’s license is necessary.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years Power Plant I&C experience in electronics, troubleshooting and calibration.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
• Experience with protective relays, metering, and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance support to troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation for boilers, turbines, generators and plant equipment.
• Read P&ID’s and CWD’s to locate and repair plant systems and interlocks.
• Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain protective relays and control systems.
• Document work orders, calibration sheets, time cards and material requests.
