Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking a Combustion Turbine Technician to operate and maintain power plant equipment on a rotating shift. The role includes troubleshooting gas and steam turbines, recording data, and coordinating with the LOMT and shift team to ensure reliable plant operations.

The position requires mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical knowledge, plus experience with Maximo CMMS and PLC interfaces. EOE AA M/F/Protected Veteran status.

Qualifications

• Mechanical, instrumentation and electrical equipment knowledge required.
• Associates degree or equivalent preferred; relevant experience accepted.
• Ability to make competent decisions in emergencies and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair gas and steam turbines and balance of plant equipment.
• Record data, monitor plant conditions and report issues to the shift team.
• Use Maximo for work orders and document maintenance actions.
• Perform water chemistry monitoring and related adjustments as needed.
• Follow safety, environmental and regulatory procedures at all times.
