Job summary

Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group seeks an experienced controls engineer to lead and support design projects for nuclear plant control systems. The role focuses on technical execution, project management, and cross-discipline coordination with mechanical, electrical, and structural teams.

Responsibilities include developing system requirements, interfacing with clients, reviewing technical reports, managing resources and budgets, and supporting proposals and vendor interactions.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 10+ years in design engineering of instrumentation and controls for commercial/industrial applications.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly in speech and writing.
• Knowledge of available equipment and pre-engineered systems for execution.
• Experience liaising with clients in a lead or support engineering role.
• Experience reviewing design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare control system functional and implementation requirements and procurement specifications.
• Interface with the client to ensure proper project execution and client satisfaction.
• Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, and studies for client requirements.
• Manage resources and develop estimates for task completion and budget.
• Support development of proposals for projects.
• Prepare and review diagrams and drawings for controls solutions.
• Evaluate vendor bids from a technical perspective.
• Interface with vendors to review documents and witness FAT for the client.
• Support project implementation at client facilities.
