Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking an Equipment Operator to operate and maintain boiler systems at our power plant. You will follow procedures, monitor control room indicators, and ensure safe and compliant operation with health, safety and environmental standards.

You will work under supervision, prepare work orders, assist in outages, and support operator training. A high school diploma or associate degree and 1 year of related experience are preferred, with a valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of job safety requirements and communicate clearly.
• Three–seven years of related power plant operation experience preferred.
• Strong ability to learn and follow procedures and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment under supervision for efficiency and safety.
• Monitor control room indicators and perform routine checks.
• Diagnose issues, log conditions, and request repairs.
• Prepare work permits and assist in outages and plant maintenance.
