Job summary

Cogentrix is seeking an Operations and Maintenance Technician I at the Rising Sun, Maryland facility. The role focuses on troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and operation of electrical, controls, and instrumentation equipment, including complex electronic controls and medium voltage gear.

A degree in electronics/instrumentation or equivalent experience is required. Qualified candidates will have hands-on experience with digital control systems, schematics to P&IDs, PLC ladder logic, and

Qualifications

Requires ability to troubleshoot, repair, maintain and operate electrical, controls and instrumentation systems.
Ability to interpret data sheets, vendor manuals, and troubleshooting flowcharts.
Interpret/prepare technical drawings from schematics to P&IDs and PLC ladder logic diagrams.
Understand digital control systems, valves, transmitters and transducers.
Experience with diagnostics programs for instrumentation.

Responsibilities

Lead shift operator qualifications and oversee calibration of instruments measuring process variables.
Install, repair, maintain, and calibrate digital and analog instruments to specifications.
Interpret data sheets, manuals, and schematics; create and modify instrument drawings.
Troubleshoot control loops, replace defective parts, and test assemblies with meters and gauges.
Maintain logs, inspect instruments, and support procedure creation and bidding documents.
Assist in NERC/CIP evidence gathering and compliance tasks.
