Job summary

Covanta in Haverhill, MA is looking for a Control Room Operator to oversee the operations of the facility. This position is integral to monitoring the status of all plant systems, responding to alarms, and ensuring safe operation.

The ideal candidate should possess a valid Massachusetts Second Class Engineer’s License and an Associate’s Degree or equivalent in power plant operations. Benefits include medical coverage, 401(k), and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts Second Class Engineer’s License or higher.
• Ability to read blueprints, P&IDs, and understand schematic specifications.
• Strong leadership and motivational skills.

Responsibilities

• Control operation of station systems including steam generation and electrical systems.
• Understand and train other Operators on operating principles.
• Initiate and conduct periodic surveillance tests on station operating safety checks.
