Job summary

Reworld is seeking a Control Room Operator to lead and direct plant staff under supervision, ensuring continuous monitoring of all systems. You will respond to alarms, execute start-up/shut-down procedures, and ensure safe, efficient operation while meeting generating requirements.

Requirements include a Massachusetts Second Class Engineer’s License or higher and an Associate degree or technical training. Overtime, heavy lifting, and respirator use may be involved; a strong safety mindset is

Qualifications

• Requires Massachusetts Second Class Engineer’s License or higher.
• Associates Degree or equivalent in power plant operations or technical training.
• Ability to read Blueprints, P&IDs, and vendor manuals.

Responsibilities

• Controls operation of station systems including steam generation, condensate, feed water, turbine/generator, circulating water, service water, fuel handling, ash handling, electrical, fire protection, air pollution control and networks.
• Trains other Operators on operating principles of the plant’s systems and steam cycles.
• Reads meters, gauges and recorders to determine conditions and act per procedures.
• Adjusts temperatures, pressures, flow and levels for optimization.
• Performs surveillance tests on safety checks and conditions.
• Maintains logs, notes abnormal conditions and notifies supervisor.
• Monitors pumps, motors, valves, fans, dampers, grates and conveyors.
• Monitors fire protection and emergency equipment.
• Identifies and corrects abnormal/ emergency conditions.
