Job summary

Reworld is seeking an Assistant Control Room Operator to oversee plant operations in Massachusetts. The role requires a Massachusetts Third Class Engineers License and a high school diploma or technical training, with duties including monitoring process systems, responding to alarms, and assisting with start-up and shutdown procedures to keep operations safe and efficient.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts Third Class Engineers License required under chapter 146 of the M.G.L.
• High School Diploma or equivalent technical training preferred

Responsibilities

• Controls operation of station systems (steam generation, condensate, feed water, circulating water, service water, fuel handling, ash handling, electrical, fire protection, air pollution control and related networks).
• Trains other Operators on operating principles of the facility’s systems and steam cycles.
• Reads meters, gauges, recorders and annunciators to determine conditions and takes action per procedures.
• Adjusts temperatures, pressures, flow and levels for plant optimization.
• Initiates and conducts periodic surveillance tests and safety checks and acts per procedures.
• Maintains logs and calculations; notifies supervisor of abnormal conditions.
• Monitors operation of station systems and components including pumps, motors, valves, fans, dampers, grates, augers, conveyors, dust collections.
• Monitors fire protection, emergency backup equipment and electrical/instrumentation associated with station systems.
• Monitors air pollution control equipment, records data and reports trends or malfunctions.
• Identifies and corrects abnormal operating or emergency conditions.
