Job summary

Reworld is seeking an Auxiliary Operator to work with the facility control room to safely operate and inspect various power plant systems, ensuring efficient operations of Covanta's industrial disposal process.

You will monitor boilers and auxiliary equipment, manage refuse-fuel levels, perform sampling and testing, and operate heavy equipment like cranes and forklifts. A high school diploma and 2–3 years of experience are preferred, with rotating shifts required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy industrial equipment.
• Ability to work rotating shift schedules.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect power plant systems in accordance with safety operating procedures; systems include boilers, air pollution control systems, ash systems and other heavy equipment.
• Monitor and inspect boiler plant auxiliary equipment such as pumps, motors, fans, dampers, air compressors, valves, mixers, conveyors, turbine generators and electrical devices.
• Read and interpret data from meters, gauges, and measuring tools to identify trends or potential disruptions impacting facility operations.
• Monitor air pollution control equipment.
• Perform sampling, chemistry testing and water treatment as required.
• Safely operate heavy industrial mobile equipment such as cranes, skid steers, loaders and forklifts.
• Maintain correct refuse-fuel levels and appropriate mix in designated pits and areas.
• Assume additional duties to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
