Job summary

MasTec Utility Services is seeking a OHE Lineman B apprentice to assist Journeyman Lineman and Foreman while training. You will work on poles, power lines, and related equipment for transmission and distribution of electricity, learning safe practices from the Lineman team.

You will gain hands-on experience in line construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting in a field environment, with opportunities to advance within the MasTec Power Delivery segment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of lineman experience required.
• Valid Class A CDL required.
• 3+ years of lineman experience preferred.
• OSHA 10 Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution of electrical lines.
• Provide technical skills for reliable electrical services to consumers.
• Connect/disconnect and install electrical devices on customer facilities.
• Route or reroute power lines around existing structures.
• Inspect and remove damaged power lines.
• Assist in carrying poles, digging holes, and other pole-setting tasks.
• Perform line switching or sectionalizing as directed.
• Provide backup for Apprentice Lineman duties.
• Submit Apprentice Program documentation on time.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems on customer equipment as needed.
• Drive bucket truck to jobsite and maintain truck stock.
• Investigate consumer complaints and perform repairs as needed.
