Job summary

Dashiell Corporation is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to support a project team in civil and structural design tasks. The role includes learning wind load calculations, structural analysis, and applying standards such as NESC and IEEE while gaining site exposure at substation projects.

You’ll work under close supervision as you build engineering knowledge, use a document management system, and contribute to project documents and drawings.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Civil Engineering degree from an accredited university.
• Power focus is preferred.
• Internship experience in power/energy field is a plus.
• Ability to learn and apply standards and codes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project team to prepare civil and structural drawings under supervision.
• Perform wind load calculations and structural analysis with oversight.
• Learn NESC, IEEE, ANSI, AISC and ACI standards and apply them.
• Use document management systems for project files and records.
• Gain hands-on knowledge at job sites for substation projects.
• Ensure accuracy and quality of all work and raise issues when identified.
• Travel as required for project assignments.
• Assist with special projects as assigned.
