Job summary

MISO is seeking a 2027 Summer Intern - Load and Weather Risk Analyst in Carmel, IN to contribute to Operations Risk Management. You’ll help forecast load and quantify risk affecting generation dispatch and energy supply across the region.

You will gain hands-on experience with Python/SQL, develop forecasting models, and modernize legacy tools while working on real-time weather and load data to support grid reliability.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis.
• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical/Power/Computer Engineering.
• Location Carmel, IN; June–Aug 2027; paid internship.

Responsibilities

• Developing or enhancing load probability forecasting models.
• Identifying and building models that assess renewable generation risk from weather/load data.
• Automating and modernizing forecasting tools and scripts using Python and SQL.
• Communicating risk to decision-makers based on forecast results.
