Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join the Power Division with opportunities across locations, including Houston. You will design structures for power generation and industrial facilities, coordinating with project teams through design and construction.

Requirements include ABET-accredited BS in Structural Engineering, 3+ years of experience, strong CAD/analysis skills (RISA 3D, AutoCAD, Tekla), and excellent communication. EIT preferred; PE encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (FE exam considered).
• Master’s Degree may substitute for 1 year of experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of structural engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical problem-solving and quantitative approach.
• EIT preferred; PE license encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design from concept through design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings for various projects.
• Design structural components per project needs and manager guidance.
• Apply knowledge of codes and structural engineering concepts.
• Research and compile project data as required.
• Update drawings in CAD systems for accuracy.
• Prepare information for client presentations and contract administration.
• Conduct field inspections and measurements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with policies and standards.
