Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Houston seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead project teams delivering world‑class structural designs for new builds, redevelopments and alterations across power, process, corporate and healthcare facilities.

You will guide design from concept to construction, prepare specs and data sheets, review drawings, manage budgets and schedules, and mentor staff. PE preferred; travel up to 15%. Full‑time role with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• ABET‑accredited degree in Structural Engineering or related field; 7+ yrs structural exp.
• FE exam passed + 7+ yrs exp; EPC project exp preferred.
• MS in Structural Engineering with 6+ yrs exp; EPC exp preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design from concept through construction across diverse sectors.
• Prepare specifications, data sheets, RFQs and cost proposals.
• Review vendor drawings and coordinate with clients, suppliers and other disciplines.
• Manage project schedules, scope, budget, and staffing; handle change orders.
• Mentor junior engineers; ensure QA/QC and safety adherence.
• Build client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
