Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC is seeking a SCADA Engineer to support OT systems across gas, solar and wind assets. You will design and maintain Ignition SCADA systems, gateways, screens, alarms, historian and data integrations.

You will manage OT SCADA equipment, configure devices, and ensure systems stay up to date. Collaboration with IT and operations is essential to meet reliability, security and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3–6 years of experience; applicable years of experience may substitute for degree.
• Expert level proficiency in Inductive Automation Ignition and AVEA PI is mandatory.
• Experience with Renewable and Gas power systems.
• Familiarity with OT equipment such as SCADA systems, RTU’s, PI data historians, SEL-RTAC, DNP, OPC, Modbus protocols, etc.
• Ignition certification is preferred.
• Proficiency in Python scripting and Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain Ignition SCADA System, including Gateways, new screens, alarms, historian and integration.
• Manage OT SCADA equipment, including servers and point configurations, ensuring systems are up to date.
• Develop data flows and displays in Ignition Perspective for advanced analytics and visualization of operational data.
• Troubleshoot and maintain connections between OT equipment (RTUs, PI data historians, etc.).
• Maintain data connections between Remote Operations Center, corporate data servers and SCADA/OPC servers.
• Coordinate with IT as primary contact for plant operations.
• Provide NERC CIP guidance to ensure assets are compliant.
• Support SCADA lifecycle refresh and internal AI initiatives.
