Job summary

Florida Detroit Diesel Allison is seeking a Power Generation Diesel Mechanic who will identify abnormalities on customer power generation equipment at customer sites and perform standard repairs, including battery chargers, block heaters, and related support gear.

The successful candidate will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair power generation equipment, follow safety procedures, and maintain documentation. GED or high school diploma with 2–4 years' related experience is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2–4 years related experience.
• Experience with power generation equipment preferred.
• Basic computer/navigation skills required.

Responsibilities

• Identify abnormalities with customer power generation equipment at customer sites.
• Perform standard repairs on power generation equipment and related support equipment.
• Identify and order appropriate parts to complete repairs and routine maintenance.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment according to guidelines and schedules.
• Provide assistance to senior technicians on larger jobs.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Follow established quality standards and safety procedures.
• Conduct load tests to verify generators can handle rated capacity.
• Lead commissioning activities and verify system installation and performance.
