Power Generation Field Service Technician

Overview

We are seeking a talented Power Generation Field Service Technician to join our Distribution Business in Grand Rapids, MI. In this role, you will:

1. Complete repairs and rebuilds on engine products in the field.
2. Develop productive customer relations and ensure prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
3. Apply documented procedures and policies to complete repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools.
4. Assist with documentation such as work completed reports, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality forms, using handwritten forms or business system input screens.
5. Complete training aligned with skill and business requirements.
6. Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental policies and report any issues or incidents.

Qualifications

To succeed, you should have:

• Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance skills.
• Experience with High Voltage / Low Voltage systems.
• Ability to perform electrical repairs and maintenance with minimal supervision, with hands-on experience on power generation products.
• Technician Level III qualification: significant relevant experience, capable of complex diagnosis and repair, able to train less experienced technicians.
• Valid local driving permit.

Responsibilities

• Valid license required.
• 3+ years of driving experience and a clean 5-year motor vehicle report.
• Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
• Compliance with DOT driving regulations, including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Book use.
• Minimum age of 21, with CDL possibly required upon hire.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary ranges from $64,000 to $96,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include 401(k), pension plans, medical/dental/life insurance, HSA, domestic partner coverage, and other personal and professional benefits.
