Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking a Mid Level Electrical Engineer to contribute to large power projects across North America. The role emphasizes strong design skills, collaboration with construction partners, and mentoring junior engineers.

The candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team, applying engineering techniques and standards while supporting project delivery and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited four-year college or university and EIT license.
• At least 3 years’ experience performing power engineering related duties.
• Familiar with basic computer operation and should have had introductory computer programming courses; ability to use electrical design software tools.
• Experience in field construction or startup power plant work and previous experience directing junior engineers is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques to design large power projects.
• Prepare technical specifications and interface points with construction partners; coordinate design efforts and evaluate bids.
• Prepare electrical engineer designs including layout, schematics, calculations and conceptual design.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and adhere to design standards and codes.
• Work with a large project team to integrate engineering and construction perspectives.
