Job summary

KBR Consulting seeks a Practice Leader for Power & Energy Systems in Houston, TX. You will drive the power generation practice, lead FEED-focused studies, mentor engineers, and guide client engagements across gas, renewables, storage and decarbonization projects.

The role requires 15+ years in power development and strong client leadership, with a hybrid work arrangement in Houston and nearby areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in power generation engineering and consulting, U.S. market preferred.
• Able to work in a ‘seller-doer’ model and lead FEED studies.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on generation technologies (gas turbines, CC, renewables, storage, hydrogen blending, carbon capture).
• Interface with clients and licensors to ensure technical alignment.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge development.
• Support business development with technical input for proposals and presentations.
• Lead technical marketing engagements (whitepapers, thought leadership, conferences).
• Lead FEED studies for new power gen and repowering projects.
• Conduct feasibility, technology evaluations, and grid interconnection/DER studies.
