Job summary

WSP USA is offering a Full-Time Electrical Engineering Substation Internship in Billings, MT as part of its Summer Internship Program. The 12-week internship targets undergrad/grad students, starting May 17, 2027, with flexible start dates.

You will work alongside senior staff, gain exposure to real projects, and receive mentorship through the Developing Professionals Network while completing assigned engineering tasks and training.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in Electrical Engineering undergraduate program with anticipated graduation date August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Electrical Engineering and desire to advance skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Ability to take direction from leadership, mentors, and managers.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and tools.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.
• Commitment to workplace safety and policy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
