Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Full-Time Substation Structural Engineering Intern to join our Power and Energy team in Overland Park, KS (Billings, MT also listed). This 12-week summer program starts May 18, 2026, offering hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to real projects under senior staff.

You will develop technical, social and ethical skills, apply structural engineering principles, assist in field work, design calculations and documentation, and complete training while upholding safety

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program with a graduation date Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the United States.
• Interest in Civil Engineering and desire to develop skills on real projects with mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design calculations and analysis for substation structures.
• Support preparation of design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Contribute to project documentation and field work as needed.
• Participate in training and adhere to safety policies.
