Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer, Power Distribution to lead design and upgrade efforts for overhead and underground systems.

You will mentor engineers, ensure compliance with NESC/IEEE standards, and collaborate across substation, transmission, and renewables teams. Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in Electrical/ Civil/ Mechanical Eng from ABET program with 5–10 years in power distribution design.
• Advanced knowledge of overhead and underground distribution facilities and JS integration into utility operations.
• Experience applying NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and LGE/KU standards in distribution line design.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of overhead and underground distribution line design including routing, analysis, hardware and conductor selection, and permitting.
• Design and implement innovative engineering solutions for complex distribution system designs.
• Assist the Lead Engineer in managing large-scale projects from inception to completion.
• Serve as technical authority and provide peer reviews of drawings.
• Develop project deliverables including plan and profile drawings, BOMs, and design drawings.
• Mentor and coach mid-level engineers; conduct training sessions.
