Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Power Distribution Engineer I in New York to develop cost-effective conceptual and engineering solutions for overhead and underground power distribution systems.

Under a Senior Engineer, you will design, automate, upgrade, expand, and maintain distribution networks, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards and collaborating with teams across substation, distribution, and renewable energy projects.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 0-1 years of experience in electrical engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other Windows-based programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of engineering/design projects.
• Create and modify engineering/design drawings and ensure compliance with standards.
• Safely and accurately conduct field walkdowns to obtain design information.
• Prepare technical documentation.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving engineering issues.
• Engage in continuous learning to enhance technical skills.
• Seek mentorship from senior engineers to develop professionally.
