Job summary

Westwood Professional Services in Lansdale, PA seeks a Senior Distribution Engineer to design, upgrade, and automate overhead and underground power distribution systems for clients, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate across subsystems from substations to renewables, and travel to project sites as needed to deliver robust, cost-effective solutions using advanced methodologies and design tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil/Structural, Mechanical or multi-disciplinary engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 4–10 years of relevant experience in power distribution engineering in consulting/utility environments.
• Experience with NESC, ASCE and IEEE standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Engineer in managing large-scale projects from inception to completion.
• Oversee project timelines to ensure successful delivery.
• Design and implement innovative engineering solutions for complex designs.
• Provide peer reviews on engineering drawings.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and conduct training sessions to enhance team skills.
• Ensure compliance with safety and design standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering with business objectives.
• Communicate project status and risks to stakeholders.
• Travel to project sites as necessary to gather data and interface with clients.
• Develop deliverables such as plans, profiles, structures, BOMs and drawings.
