Job summary

Eaton Corporation's Electrical Engineering Services & Systems Division is seeking an Electrical Application Engineer. This hybrid role is based in Roseville, CA or Pleasanton, CA with up to 20% travel.

You will lead technical proposals and pricing strategies for power distribution projects across the West Region, serving as a technical advisor to Sales and customers. The position offers a competitive salary range and a sales incentive program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution OR equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years in application engineering, proposal development, electrical service estimating, technical marketing, engineering, sales, or product management.
• Driver's license required and valid; background checks may apply.
• US work authorization; no sponsorship at this time.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of technical proposals, bid packages, cost estimates, and pricing strategies for power distribution projects in the West Region.
• Serve as a technical advisor to Sales, channel partners, consultants, end users, and internal teams, delivering tailored solutions to national accounts and data centers.
• Analyze project specs and coordinate with third‑party vendors to deliver competitive proposals.
• Support Eaton's portfolio of engineering services, digital solutions, aftermarket offerings, and training programs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve proposal processes, pricing models, and quotation tools.
• Lead handoff activities and pursue additional scope opportunities to ensure smooth project execution.
• Conduct customer presentations, site visits, and collaborate with sales and field teams to promote Eaton solutions.
• Track proposal activity, maintain relationships, and deliver exceptional service within deadlines.
• Mentor junior staff and pursue ongoing professional development.
• Travel up to 25% to support customers, projects, and regional initiatives.
