Job summary

Puget Sound Energy's Load Office team seeks a Supervisor Power Dispatch to lead real-time operations across the electric system, ensuring safe and reliable transmission and generation control. You will coordinate with internal teams and external authorities to maintain compliance and grid stability.

This safety-sensitive role may involve shift or non-standard hours and is on-call 24/7 to respond to emergencies, outages, and events, with a focus on safety and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Obtain NERC Balancing, Interchange, or Transmission Operator Certification within 1 year.
• 4 years proven experience in a Control Center or utility environment with supervisory/leadership experience.
• Strong negotiating, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels.
• Advanced spreadsheet and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise power dispatch operations to ensure safety, reliability and efficiency.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to support Load Office reliability.
• Provide guidance during system or resource emergencies and abnormal conditions.
• Supervise outage coordinators and training SME as applicable.
• Provide input on projects to enhance Load Office efficiency and reliability.
• Maintain relationships with neighboring system leaders and represent PSE externally.
• Participate in compliance activities, audits and self-certification.
• Act as liaison between Load Office and PSE's Merchant function.
• Prepare and submit reports requested by the Reliability Coordinator and others.
