Job summary

Indiana Michigan Power Company is seeking a Distribution Dispatcher Associate to assist in safe operation, dispatching, and restoration of facilities in the AEP Distribution System. Responsibilities include promoting safety, following policy procedures, and coordinating outage responses with field crews.

The position requires a high school diploma with 2 years of technical customer support or an equivalent degree, and on-call availability with rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field with no experience, OR associate’s degree in electrical or electronic technology with no experience, OR HS diploma with 2 years of technical customer support experience.

Responsibilities

• Promote and enforce Safety and Health programs.
• Dispatch service personnel to respond to outages and emergencies.
• Authorize energizing and restoration of distribution facilities.
• Maintain accurate outage and equipment records.
• Track crew locations and ongoing work on the distribution system.
