Job summary

Pike Engineering in Florida is seeking a safety-conscious professional to plan, oversee, and manage field utility construction crews for electric distribution projects.

The role requires 5-7 years of Electric Utility Distribution experience (engineering, operations, or construction) and a valid state driver’s license. Strong emphasis on safety, coordination with customers, and contractor management. Regular attendance is expected.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in Electric Utility Distribution (engineering, operations, or construction) required.
• Journeyman qualification preferred.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Education: high school diploma or GED; associates degree preferred; engineering degree ABET accredited preferred.
• Regular attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety consciousness and adherence to OSHA, client, federal, state, and local safety requirements.
• Educate and negotiate with customers to address concerns professionally.
• Coordinate schedules for engineering, site preparation, equipment and contract crews for Power Delivery maintenance, restoration activities, storm hardening and expansions.
• Coordinate contractor activity with customers for Power Delivery projects.
• Inspect and ensure contractor work complies with utility specifications; provide cost-effective recommendations.
• Assist in management of contractors during storm restoration operations.
• Develop and mentor less experienced employees.
• Support additional duties as assigned by management.
